Yoga In Addis

In our 90-minute session, I will guide you through a sequence that is inspired by the precision of BKS Iyengar combined with the heat building flow-with-the-breath sequencing of Vinyasa. This includes sun salutations, standing poses, forward bends, twists, hip openers, backbends, and inversions balanced between the power of breath. The  first half of the class is yang – focusing on building muscle, coordination and strength. The last half of the class is yin – focusing on improving flexibility through stretching,  increasing circulation in the joints and connective tissues.

Classes include asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques). I emphasize the yogic principle of ahisma (nonviolence) in all classes, encouraging students to explore their edge, while listening to their bodies and respecting limits. Classes are suitable for all levels, and I offer modifications where needed.
